SBI PO Notification 2018
Official SBI PO 2018 Notifications will be out very soon. The final dates are still unknown. But if we analyse the previous notifications release dates, we will observe that notifications releases in February or March. Once the notifications are out, eligible and interested candidates can apply for SBI PO 2018 online test. SBI PO Vacancy 2018
SBI(State Bank of India) declared 2403 posts/vacancies for SBI Probationary Officers 2017. Out of 2403, 90 posts/vacancies were reserved for disabled candidates. As the SBI PO Notification 2018 is still waiting for its release, an exact number of posts or vacancies is unknown until now.
More than 20 lakh aspirants attempt SBI PO Exam every year. If we observe the year-on-year vacancies, it will conclude that more than 2,000 SBI PO Vacancy will be there in 2018.

SBI PO Exam Centre 2018
As its a national level exam, SBI PO Exam is conducted at several locations all over India. Candidates can select and fill their preferred exam centre out of a list provided by SBI. However, a candidate might get different centre depending on availability of seats on that centre.
SBI PO Exam Pattern
SBI PO Main Examination consists of 155 Objective-Type Questions making a total of 200 marks. Descriptive-Type Questions makes a total of 50 marks. Both sections make a total of 250 marks and test for both is conducted online.
Descriptive type questions are required to answer in a descriptive manner and shall be answered by typing while attempting them online. As soon the objective test is completed, the descriptive test starts.
- The objective test consists of 4 sections and should be completed within 3 hours. It will have a total weightage of 200 marks.
- Each section of the objective test will have separate timing/duration.
- To qualify each section, candidates must secure passing marks in each section separately.

- The Descriptive Test will have a total weightage of 50 marks and should be completed within 30 minutes.
- This section consists of long answers and primarily test Candidate’s English Language (Letter Writing & Essay).
- Just like each Objective Section, candidates must pass this section separately to proceed to further rounds.
SBI PO Interview
Candidates are ranked in each category on the basis of total marks(objective + descriptive) scored. Top-ranked candidates will be selected and will be called for Group Exercises and Interview. The qualifying marks are subjected to the decision of SBI itself.
OBC candidates qualifying for Group Exercises & Interview must carry OBC certificate containing the ‘Non-Creamy layer’ clause. If a candidate fails to submit OBC certificate containing the ‘Non-Creamy layer’ clause, he/she will not be entertained to give the Group Exercises & Interview under General category.
Wrong Answers Penalty
For each incorrectly answered objective question(in both Preliminary and Mains exams), candidate’s total score will be reduced by 1/4 of the marks assigned to that particular question.
If a candidate leaves a question without answering, it will not affect the total score in any way(positive or negative). So be cautious while attempting any Objective-Type question in SBI PO Exams 2018.
SBI PO Examination’s Final Score Calculation
SBI PO 2018 Examinations will have two main sections (Preliminary and Mains). But both have different weightage and different importance. Below are some important points related to SBI PO Exams 2018:
- SBI PO Premilinar Exam will not affect candidate’s final selection. Preliminary exams are conducted just to qualify for SBI PO Mains exams.
- Candidate must pass both Mains Exams and Group Exercises/Interview to be considered for final selection.
- Final Score for Merit List will be based on Mains Exams and Final Interview. The ratio for that will be 80:20 respectively.
- Similarly, Preliminary Score will be calculated from the written test (objective and descriptive) and Group Exercises/Interview in a ration of 75:25.
The final merit list will be published under Employment News or Rozgar Samachar in newspapers. It will be published on Bank’s website also.

SBI PO Eligibility
One should be eligible to sit in SBI PO Exams if he/she meets the complete requirement mentioned below.
First eligibility for SBI PO exam is a graduation degree. It can be in different streams including B.A., B.Com., B.Sc., B.Tech., etc. The degree should be from a Government of India recognized university. Candidates with an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government can also apply.
Candidates who haven’t completed their graduation and are in the final year/semester can also apply provisionally. But when they will appear for an interview, they must carry proof that their graduation is completed before 01.07.2018. Candidates having Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) can also appear but only if their IDD is completed on or before 01.07.2018.
The candidate must be between 20 years and 30 years old while registering for the SBI PO exam. Apart from that, the candidates are provided age relaxation depending on their caste/tribe, gender or disability. Below table consist of age relaxation different categories of candidates:

Number of Chances
There is a limit on how many times an eligible candidate can attempt SBI Probationary Officer Exam. The limit is based on the category of the candidate. Please go through the table below to know the exact number of chances a candidate has:

At least one of the following nationality conditions should be satisfied to appear for SBI PO Examination:
- Citizen of India
- A subject of Nepal or Bhutan
- Tibetan Refugee who settled in India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement
- Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who have migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam or East African countries of Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Uganda, Zaire, Zambia, Malawi with the intention of permanent settlement in India
- Candidates belonging to the 2nd, 3rd or 4th category must show their certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
- Computer Knowledge: The candidate must have computer knowledge as the SBI Probationary Officer Exam is conducted online.
- Language Proficiency: Candidates should have verbal and written proficiency in official language of the State/UT. The candidate should be able to read, write and speak the language.
